Keeping Warm

I live in the snow belt of Ontario. Although I no longer ski (I'd love to be able to do it, but my knees have other ideas!), I still love the winter for the most part. There is something special about walking in a winter wonderland at night when the snow is fresh and sparkling in the moonlight. Our dog, being a Siberian Husky, loves the snow so much that it makes the cold and ice a little more bearable. Because of his knee surgery in the summer, he's not quite up to racing around and jumping through snowdrifts, but he still delights in taking a long walk. We generally walk at night because the wind dies down and I enjoy the quiet solitude. We don't have to worry about traffic at that time of day - at least not as much as during the daytime. When we get back from our walks, I often enjoy a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate. The challenge at Less is More this week is "Drinks", so here is my offering - a steaming hot mug of hot chocolate.

I heat embossed the mug with white embossing powder and then added the "hot chocolate" using a Ranger Inkssentials Embossing Pen and Adirondack Espresso Embossing Powder. The steam from the mug is embossed with Tsukineko clear embossing powder. I added a few tiny gems to the snowflake on the mug for a finishing touch. I was really pleased with the final result. Hope you like it too!

Until next time,
