Shower Card

Only 10 days until my son, Michael's wedding! The time has been flying by as all of the final details of the big event fall in place. We can hardly wait for the 15th to arrive. Such an exciting time - not only because of the delight we feel in seeing our son move on to this next stage in his life, but because we are so pleased to welcome our new daughter-in-law into our family.

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending a shower for Pam. I had a wonderful time and was thrilled to see all of the fabulous things that her generous friends gave to the happy couple. I made a special card for the event and wanted to share it online.

I recently ordered a couple of stamps from Stamping Bella. I just love their line of "Uptown Girl" rubber stamps. For Pam's shower I used uptown girl BRIGITTE the bride. Here is the card I created with the image:

I was delighted with the way the card turned out. I coloured the image with a combination of Prismacolor Premium coloured pencils and Copic markers. I added a bit of sparkle with my Quickie Glue pen and a mixture of Rock Candy Distress Stickles Dry Glitter and DecoArt Glamour Dust. I created a 3D bouquet of flowers using tiny rolled roses in cream and mauve cardstock. The flowers were cut using the smallest rose die from the Impression Obsession Spiral Flowers set. Once I had arranged the flowers to my satisfaction, I decided it needed some 3 dimensional leaves to complete the effect I wanted to achieve. I used the spiral daisy die from the same die set to colour and cut tiny leaves. I chose several different hues of green Copic markers to give more depth and interest. Here is a picture of the detail on the card:

I loved the card so much that I decided to enter it in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. This week's theme is "Anything Goes".

I promise to post pictures of the wedding invitation when I have time to edit the photos.

Until next time,
